It wasn\u2019t supposed to be this way. Originally, we came down to Grenada for a few days with the idea of gunkholing around the Grenadines for a week. After that we\u2019d head north, back to St. Lucia, and collect my younger daughter, Emma. From there we\u2019d continue north to Antigua, drop Emma off, and prepare to cross the Atlantic.<\/p>\n

Well, none of that happened. Emma gamely flew into Grenada with the hope that we\u2019d finish and get away within a few days of her arrival. No such luck. Parts take forever to arrive in this part of the world, a couple of weeks at a minimum. Then there\u2019s getting folks to fix things and, well, apart from becoming a PADI certified diver and overcoming a vestigial fear of the water, it wasn\u2019t much of a holiday for her.<\/p>\n

Once we finally got Aleta out of the water, we lived aboard as repairs slowly progressed. Progress they did and merrily float we, again. Even Marlon is happier. We now have a new goal, to head north and gunk-hole around the Grenadines \u2013 yada, yada. We will do our best to make it up to Emma at some point soon-ish.<\/p>\n
