In this short video from Charleston, SC, I describe in a little more detail what life on board is like in an ice storm. Given the relatively benign passage from the Chesapeake, we weren’t prepared for this much adventure so soon in our journey. Better to learn this now, than in the middle of the North Sea. Frustratingly, 60 miles away on the other side of the Gulf Stream temperatures are in the 70sF. That’s about a half-day’s sail from here. As optimists we look forward to the big thaw and continue extolling the virtues of a full cockpit enclosure.
